LifeLight

John 1: 4-9
In Jesus Christ there's life. That life is a light to all still wandering in darkness. Darkness blinds. Light shines. Darkness consumes. Light filters. Evil darkness tries to put out the light. Real light never goes out. Light is goodness; goodness always defeats evil. Real light will never be put out. Light reveals all weaknesses and when evil gets close we realize that evil has no strength. Darkness loses all power and becomes shadows. Shadows are just reminders of what used to be. The light purifies all those who come to Him; the light releases prisoners and gives them back their childhood. Children of light. In the light we have courage. Courage to stand, To defeat evil. Courage to come closer. The closer we come to the light the more our shadows disappear.
So why not come closer? Why do so many lost blinded souls become prisoners? Darkness binds the feet and hands. It gags its prisoner; whispering lies into their minds. They walk blindly, not knowing where they are going and not caring where they will end up. They are numb. Numb from worry. Numb from fear. They are doomed. Unless...
Unless they see the light.Until they feel the light warm their insides. Until they hear the light give them hope. Children, are now composed of light. You are light. You have hope. To many, you are the hope. Don't diminish your light.
Why not get closer to the Light?..

Washing Away...

...The coolness of the drops hit me like the fingers of a loving hand. I was like a fountain soaking it all in while letting it all go. The drops caressenly beat against my face, mixing salty water with the tears of heaven. Why am I standing here; I cannot fully comprehend.

Might it be the reassuring pitter-patter against my face that so perfectly matches the painful pattering of my heart? But no, there's something more than this. In the rain I feel myself become complete. It's as if the heavens are wiping my soul. For its in the rain that we find out who we really are. It is in the rain we find the limits of our strength and what goes beyond. It is in the rain that we realize how true and deep our love is.

For shame, that this is the way of the rain. For as it cleanses the spirit from wasting, it gathers a puddle of mud around one's feet. It is in the rain we see our weakness. It is in the rain that the pain is like a beating drum. It is in the rain where we realize the limits of our sacrifices for the sake of love. And of loved one's for us.

As the harsh beating of the rain turns to a drizzling mist, I realize that I am like a fountain. Overflowing and releasing my pain only to be filled up with grace. And I realize that through the rain I am stronger... I stand taller...  my love is more complete.

(P.S this was not the scheduled post for this week's Friday, but some posts cant be postponed. Thanks for understanding and I promise to have the "scheduled" post next week, maybe even add a bonus post!)

The Beginning

It has finally happened. I am starting a dream of mine that I had for a very long time! Having my own blog is something that I wanted to do for more then five years now, however the courage to put myself out there for the whole world to see never came. Now, being more confident and secure in myself then ever before, I can see that if I took this step earlier I would have not been able to show my true self. Funny how when insecurities come creeping in they bring with them masks that we hide behind to protect ourselves.

Why would I want to start a blog? This questioned was asked oh so many times in the past couple years. Starting a blog is opening so many opportunities to share my love of life with so many more people. This haven that I am creating will be open to all my crazy ideas and (hopefully) it will have readers who like to join in on the fun. Its another expression of myself.

Who am I? I'm just a regular North-Western collage girl with many different passions and quirks. But that's what makes people beautiful, our different loves that build our lives. Big family, big dreams, big life. I love beauty in all different forms, but most of all I love the Creator of beauty. The sky is a big place, full of mystery and adventure, and one day I will shine up there. Brighter than a star.

Whats it about? I hope to share with you my fashion, art, cooking, crafting, DIYs and, from time to time, issues that are pulling at my heart. I hope that you, my dear reader, will become a special companion on this journey that is beginning, not only in blogging, but also in life. I promise it wont be boring. Life is full of unexpected surprises...

P.s The blog is still under-construction, please be patient while I learn to use it to its full potential!
